Buy used or share

For some years now I have been trying to look for things I need on the second-hand market rather than buying them new.

I do this because I think there's something beautiful about someone who no longer needs something passing it on to someone who can really make use of it, while at the same time conserving resources and the impact on the environment.

I also enjoy using something that has history and being in contact with the previous owners/carers, with whom I have something in common simply because of our shared interest in the piece.

Of course, it would be even nicer if such things could be shared in a community instead of being acquired superfluously. Then there would be the opportunity to look after them together, to learn how to get the best out of them by sharing knowledge in a group of like-minded users/maintainers, and ultimately to enjoy them together for many years and generations to come. 🥰
